Consumers have their say in BETA Business Awards

Members of the public are being invited to have their say in the search to find winners of the equestrian industry’s BETA Business Awards. Three of these prestigious accolades, designed to reward and celebrate significant contributions to the trade, are put out to public nomination and vote.

The Joules Equestrian Event of the Year award – seeking consumer feedback for the first time – invites nominations for events judged to offer a superior visitor experience. These should be made through this website under the 'Awards' section. All those naming their favourite event will be entered into a prize draw offered by the award sponsor to win a £50 Joules voucher to be spent in-store. All nominations should be received by 11 January and an independent judging panel will decide the winner.

Favourite retailers can be rewarded in the SEIB Retailer of the Year category. This highly popular award allows customers to reward tack shops and feed merchants going that extra mile. All types of shopping outlet are covered, including large and small retailers, and mail-order and online operations. Customers wishing to make nominations should log on to www.retaileroftheyear.org.uk or post the information to the BETA office. The entry deadline is 7 December.

All nominated retailers will receive a form from BETA, which should be completed and returned by 31 December. Shortlisted companies are then forwarded to the vote by BETA trade members. Mystery shopping and incognito calls take place as part of the judging process.

The Haygain Nutritional Helpline of the Year award recognises those feed companies that strive to offer first-class support and assistance to callers seeking nutrition-related advice. Nominations close on 11 January and should be sent by post or email, or by downloading a special form from www.haygain.com. A shortlist will be drawn up for final judging, which will include incognito telephone calls.

Nominations not lodged on line should be sent to BETA, Stockeld Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire LS22 4AW, emailed to tinar@beta-int.com or faxed to 01937 582728.

The 2013 BETA Business Awards will be presented at the annual BETA Gala Dinner, at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Birmingham, on Sunday 17 February.
