BETA Backs Industry Awards

October is set to be a busy month for BETA, with the trade association sponsoring two exciting awards as part of its commitment to the equestrian industry.  BETA is supporting the RDA Business Partnership National Award, one of the charity’s Gala Awards 2013, which celebrate outstanding achievements of its participants, volunteers and supporters. The winner will be presented with his or her trophy during a glittering evening ceremony at Plaisterer’s Hall, London, on 2 October, with special guest Clare Balding.

BETA is also sponsoring the Equine SQP of the Year Award at the 2013 OvertheCounter Awards. This new category is one of 12 designed to reward individuals and companies from the animal health sector who go that extra mile for their customers. The winners will be presented with their awards at the London Marriott County Hall, on 23 October.

“We are really pleased to be involved with both awards,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams. “Sponsorship is an extremely rewarding way of supporting the industry and a highly effective means of raising the profile of both the trade association and its members.

“This has been a significant year for BETA sponsorships. The RDA and OvertheCounter Awards join our portfolio of support, which includes the CIC 3* at Bramham International Horse Trials, the Festival of British Eventing, at Gatcombe Park, and the Combined Training classes at the Trailblazers Championships.”

Nominations are invited for all awards, although the submission period for the RDA award closes on 31 July. Please visit the charity’s website for further information, at

The deadline for entries to the OvertheCounter Awards is 24 August. Those who wish to be considered for the BETA Equine SQP of the Year Award at the OvertheCounter Awards should send examples of how they promote best practice and offer tailored equine advice to customers. They should also supply examples of how they keep up to date with ongoing learning and can demonstrate how this knowledge directly benefits their business.

Entries can be made by post, email or online at (click “Awards”).
