Double triumph for BETA at Your Horse Live 2018

The British Equestrian Trade Association's Your Horse Live experience was declared a twin triumph as its continued sponsorship of the main arena and launch of BETA Feed Awareness Week inspired and informed consumers who flocked to this year's three-day shopping spectacular at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 9 to 11 November.

BETA's latest national campaign, designed to dispel feeding myths and build nutritional knowledge, was embraced by many feed companies and retailers exhibiting at the show. Their branded bunting and promotional posters gave out the message loud and clear that they were firmly on board with this important initiative.

Many visitors flocked to the trade association's stand to take the BETA Feed Awareness Week Test, with its £250 shopping voucher prize, pick up one of BETA's colourful new posters sharing top tips and feeding advice, and join the BETA National Equestrian Research Panel as a means of providing feedback to the industry. Some also took BETA up on its invitation to have a free safety check on their riding hat and protector in exchange for a discount voucher giving them 10 per cent off the price of a new one.

Many visitors flocked to the BETA Main Arena, where they could enjoy performances and teach-ins by riders such as Geoff Billington and Mary and Emily King. Some were fortunate enough to scoop one of the exciting spot prizes supplied by BETA member companies.

“Your Horse Live allows us to engage with an enthusiastic audience from a large geographical area,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams. “We had people travelling down from Scotland and up from the Isle of Wight and Cornwall. They are from such diverse backgrounds, but we all have horses in common. We relished the opportunity to introduce them to BETA Feed Awareness Week, promote our ongoing drive to raise the profile of rider safety and continue to promote the work of BETA members.”

As part of its commitment to the trade, BETA held its Best Stand Awards and hosted an evening drinks reception where it presented the prizes. Three categories – Lifestyle, Pet & Fashion, Equestrian & Saddlery and Food & Beverages – were judged according to set criteria and silver and gold standards awarded.

In the Lifestyle, Pet & Fashion section, gold was won by The Profiles Range, Dogs Trust, Chillout Horsewear and Petplan Equine, with silver going to Zafina, Foy & Co Interiors, Inky Dinky and SEIB.

In Equestrian & Saddlery, gold was presented to NAF, WOW Saddles, V-Bandz, TopSpec Equine, Joshua Jones and Horses in Sport, which also took Best in Show. Silver went to Honeychop Horse Feeds, Emerald Green Feeds, Saracen Horse Feeds, Natural Equine, Bloomfields Horseboxes and Stablemate.

In the Food & Beverages category, gold was awarded to The Coffee Cart, with silver going to Sweet Dreams.
