Rider and Product Safety – BETA is in the forefront
The BETA standard for Body and shoulder protectors is recognised as the world wide industry standard. The standard has been in place for over 25 years, starting in 1992 and being regularly reviewed and amended in 1995, 2000, 2009 and 2018.
With safety an important issue to the future of riding BETA offers vital training to retailers in hat and body protector fitting as well as other safety equipment. When planning to purchase safety equipment such as hats or body protectors, you should choose a stockist trained by BETA to advise on whether the product fits properly and is manufactured to the latest safety standard.
BETA also works with other organisations such as the Pony Club, the British Horse Society and British Eventing to ensure rider safety awareness is highlighted within the sport.
We offer safety equipment ‘Checking the Fit’ training days for riding instructors around the country, on demand.
We provide training to our retail members to enable them to run Pony Club Safety Equipment Achievement Badge events and Riding for the Disabled Safety Equipment Training Module events.
